We were unable to review this book as very few of the group had managed to finish it!
Main comments were that the writer's style was somewhat superior and egotistic which we all found rather grating.
Those who had managed to read it felt it improved as it progressed.
Those of us who had visited places mentioned had found these sections interseting.
Everybody was frustrated by the map at the start of the book which omitted many of the places visited.
Tunbridge Wells book club of contemporary fiction.   Book review meetings are held monthly in members homes.
The hostess cooks a selection of desserts for members to sample during the meeting.
